Optical technologies/photonics in Bavaria

bayern photonics e.V. is a regional cluster and supports especially research institutes and companies from the branch Optical Technologies with the aim of generating and developing regional cooperation inside the network. Together with the other regional clusters, bayern photonics is united in the nationwide association OptecNet Deutschland. This association acts as a representative and contact on the national and international level. The goal of this unique networking structure is to boost the Optical Technologies as a key technology for Germany.

The mission of bayern photonics is to link science and industry and to promote innovative structures in Bavaria. Furthermore, bayern photonics supports business startups, provides training and education, marketing and public relations.

Since the foundation in 2000, the total number of members increased nearly tenfold and has expanded to about 90 partners until today. bayern photonics is the third largest regional cluster of Optical Technologies in Germany. Nationwide, about 500 partners joint one of the regional clusters Optical Technologies.
